Terms of Service

Last updated: September 6, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of deependspanish.com and the Deep End platform (the "Service"), operated by Deep End ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

What Deep End is

Deep End is an online Spanish-learning platform. It offers self-paced lessons, readings, and flashcards, and it connects learners with independent instructors for live conversation practice booked and paid for through the Service.

Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account and are responsible for activity that happens under it. We use passwordless, magic-link sign-in — keep access to your email address secure, since anyone with access to it can sign in as you.

Purchases, subscriptions & refunds

Course access, subscriptions, and individual conversation sessions are purchased through Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel; you can cancel any time from your account settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refund requests are handled case by case — contact us through the Support page with your account email and the transaction you're asking about.

Instructors & live conversations

Independent instructors offer live conversation sessions through the Service. Instructors are paid out through Stripe Connect and are responsible for their own taxes as independent contractors, not employees of Deep End. Live video sessions are hosted by our video provider, Daily.co. Deep End is not a party to the tutoring relationship between a learner and an instructor and is not liable for the conduct or advice of either party during a session.

Acceptable use

Be respectful during conversation sessions and in any messages sent through the Service. Don't use the Service to harass others, share content you don't have the right to share, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the platform. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Content

Lessons, readings, and other course materials on Deep End belong to Deep End or its instructors and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial learning use only. Flashcards you create are stored locally in your own browser and belong to you.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deep End is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it can't be limited by law.

Changes to these Terms

These Terms are subject to change at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the Service after a change is posted means you accept the updated Terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever it changes.
