Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
This policy explains what information Deep End ("we," "us") collects from learners and instructors who use deependspanish.com and the Deep End iOS app (together, the "Service"), and how we use it. Logging in on either one uses the same account. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information: the email address you sign in with (we use passwordless, magic-link sign-in), and any display name or profile details you choose to add.
- Payment information: purchases, subscriptions, and instructor payouts are handled directly by Stripe. Deep End never sees or stores your full card number — we keep only a record of what was purchased, when, and for how much.
- Usage information: which lessons and readings you've completed, and messages you send if you use the Conversations feature with an instructor. Flashcards you create, and your lesson highlights, are saved on your device and, when you're signed in, synced to your account so they follow you between the website and the iOS app.
- Instructor information: if you apply to teach on Deep End, we collect the additional identity and payout information Stripe Connect requires to pay you.
- Video calls: live conversation sessions are hosted by our video provider, Daily.co, under its own privacy practices.
How we use this information
We use your information to give you access to what you've purchased, run the instructor conversation marketplace (including scheduling and payouts), process payments securely through Stripe, respond when you contact support, and improve the Service over time. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
Deep End is built on top of a small number of trusted providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy: Supabase (accounts, authentication, and database), Stripe (payments and instructor payouts), and Daily.co (live video calls). We only share the information each provider needs to do its job. When we run ads on Meta, TikTok, Google, or Reddit, those platforms' own pixels (see Cookies below) tell us which ad led to a signup or purchase — see each platform's own privacy policy for how they handle that data on their end.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us — see the Contact section below.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. Reach out through the Support page and we'll take care of it.
Children's privacy
Deep End is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Cookies
We use a minimal set of cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your session. When we're running ads, we also use conversion-tracking pixels from Meta, TikTok, Google, and/or Reddit — these tell us that a signup or purchase followed a click on one of our ads on that platform, so we know the ad worked. They don't track your browsing beyond that.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy is subject to change at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the Service after a change is posted means you accept the updated policy. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever it changes.
