Drill: This Is My Friend

Introduce friends, classmates and teachers with 这是 and 我介绍一下, say whom you know with 认识, and greet them, from single gaps to a full introduction.

What this drill practises

Twelve items on introducing people: two gaps, a listening item, then nine sentences to say in Chinese, ending with complete introductions.

Tip: 这是 introduces someone next to you, 那是 someone over there. With close people, "my" is just 我 in front of the noun: 我朋友, 我同学. 认识 is knowing a person, not a fact.

Try it yourself

Write a sentence or two using what this lesson covered. Not graded -- just for you, saved so you can come back to it.

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
