Drill: Names and Introductions

Give your name and surname, ask other people's (politely to older people), and say "nice to meet you," from single gaps to a whole first exchange.

What this drill practises

Twelve items on 叫, 姓, 什么 and 认识你很高兴: two gaps, a listening item, then nine sentences to say in Chinese, ending with a full introduction and question.

Tip: 叫 takes the full name (我叫陈静), 姓 only the surname (我姓陈), and neither needs 是. To ask, put 什么 where the name will go: 他叫什么名字?

Try it yourself

Write a sentence or two using what this lesson covered. Not graded -- just for you, saved so you can come back to it.

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
