Drill: Pronouns and 是

Say who people are and where they're from with 是 and 不是, for every pronoun, and correct a wrong guess in one sentence.

What this drill practises

Twelve items on pronouns, 是, 不是 and nationalities: two gaps, a listening item, then nine sentences to say in Chinese, ending with corrections and two-part sentences.

Tip: 是 links two nouns and never changes (I am, they are, she was -- all 是). 不 goes right before it: 不是, said bú shì. Nationality is country + 人: 英国人, 加拿大人.

Try it yourself

Write a sentence or two using what this lesson covered. Not graded -- just for you, saved so you can come back to it.

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
