States with 着: The Door Is Open

Write a short story (50–120 characters) about coming home one evening and finding something unexpected: describe what was open, on or lying where, and how people were doing things.

  • Use verb + 着 for states that continue (门开着, 灯亮着)
  • Say what is where with place + verb + 着 + thing (桌子上放着…)
  • Use verb + 着 + verb for how someone does something (笑着说)
  • Tell the events in order with 了 and 看见 / 发现

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
