Writing practice

Hometowns: 家乡, 故乡, 民间

Write a short article for a students' magazine about your hometown: what it was like when you were a child, a folk tradition people there still keep, when and why you left, and how it has changed. Write 80–180 characters.

  • Talk about your hometown with 家乡, 老家 or written 故乡
  • Describe a folk tradition with 民间
  • Use written 时 for 'when' (小时候, 那时, 上中学时)
  • Say how the place has changed

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
