Writing practice

BC and AD: 公元, 近代

You're a volunteer guide at a history museum. Write the short talk (150–280 characters) you'll give in front of one exhibit: when it was made, which period it belongs to, what it was originally used for, and why it matters.

  • Dates with 公元前 or 公元, and a century (…世纪)
  • A period: 古代, 近代, 现代 or 当代
  • 最初 for 'originally' and 多年 for 'many years'
  • 之前 / 之后 or 之一

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.

0 characters · aim for 150–280
