To My Surprise: 竟然 and 没想到

At your company's end-of-year party, two colleagues did things nobody expected. Write an email (150–280 characters) to a friend abroad telling them what happened and how everyone reacted.

  • 竟然 or 居然 before the verb for something unexpected
  • 没想到 + a whole clause
  • A 得 clause showing how strong a reaction was (吃惊得…, 笑得…)
  • 着 for how something was done (笑着说)

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
