Red Envelopes and Wishes: 红包, 祝福, 问候

You're spending New Year's Eve with your Chinese friend's family, and the grandfather asks you to say a few words at dinner. Write your short toast (150–280 characters): thank the family, wish each generation something suitable, and mention the red envelopes.

  • 祝 + person + a wish that suits them (身体健康, 工作顺利, 学习进步)
  • Red-envelope words: 发红包, 收红包 or 抢红包
  • 祝福 or 问候
  • Polite forms of address: 爷爷, 奶奶, 叔叔, 阿姨

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
