Unit 7 review
A travel website has asked you to write a short guide entry (300–500 characters) for a historic place you know, in China or elsewhere: a temple, palace, museum or old town. Say when it was built and what it was used for, what makes it special, any legend connected with it, and give visitors one or two practical tips in the style of a notice.
- Written dates and history: 建于 / 始建于 + date, 自…以来, and a period word such as 时期, 初期 or 朝代 names
- Classical traces: 之 (之一, 之中, 之类), 其 (其中, 其余) and 所 (所谓, 所在 or 所 + verb)
- Notice style for the tips: 本, 该, 此 or 各 (本馆, 该寺, 此处, 各位游客)
- At least one 成语 (源远流长, 独一无二, 名胜古迹, 一模一样…) and 据说 or 传说 for a legend
Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
