Unit 14 review
Your city's English-language website wants a Chinese version of a local news story. Choose an event (a new metro line opening, a festival, a factory closing, a visit by a foreign delegation) and write it up as a short news report (300–500 characters): a headline, the facts, what officials said, and what will happen next.
- A compressed headline (no 了 or 的; 获, 遭, 拟 or 将 where they fit)
- News language: 据报道 or 据悉, 于 + time or place, 将 for the future
- Written time words: 已, 曾, 正, 仍 or 尚未 instead of their spoken forms
- At least two reporting verbs used precisely: 表示, 指出, 强调, 透露, 证实 or 回应
