Personification and Metonymy: 拟人 and 借代

Write a short lyrical description (200–400 characters) of an old object that has 'lived' with your family for years: a clock, a bicycle, a piano, a sofa. Bring it to life with personification (拟人), refer to people by an attribute (借代) at least once, and add a simile.

  • 拟人: the object acts or feels like a person
  • 借代: people named by an attribute (白发 for the old, 红领巾 for schoolchildren)
  • A simile with 仿佛, 如同 or 好像
  • A closing line on what the object means to the family

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
