Parallelism and Antithesis: 排比 and 对偶
A colleague who has worked at your company for thirty years is retiring. Write the short speech (200–400 characters) you'll give at her farewell party. Use parallelism (排比) with at least three matching sentences, and quote or write one antithetical pair (对偶).
- 排比: three or more clauses or sentences with the same frame
- 对偶: a pair of balanced lines matching word for word
- Speech openings and closings (尊敬的…, 各位同事, 祝您…)
- Concrete memories of the person
