Unit 1 review
Write a report for your company newsletter on a public talk or debate you attended. Say who the two speakers were, summarise what each one argued and how, define one key term they used, and finish with your own view.
- 前者 and 后者 to compare the two speakers, and at least two 者 nouns (学者, 使用者, 支持者, 读者)
- Precise speech verbs: 阐述, 声称 or 宣称, 表态, 反驳, 讲述
- 所谓…，即… to define a term, and 以 for means or reputation (以…闻名, 以…为例)
- At least two classical touches: 何必 / 如何 / 为何, a 之 phrase (久而久之, 总之), or a set phrase such as 悔之晚矣 or 可谓
