Unit 4 review

A travel magazine is running a series called 'A Place I Can't Forget'. Write your entry (400–700 characters) describing one landscape you have seen: the scene at a particular time of day, what you heard, smelled and felt, and the people there. Make the description vivid with figures of speech.

  • At least two comparisons, one of them literary: 像…一样, 仿佛, 犹如, 宛如 or 好比
  • Personification (the sun 害羞地 peeping out, a city 沉睡) and one exaggeration or parallel sentence (排比)
  • Landscape vocabulary: 笼罩, 弥漫, 起伏, 轮廓, 光芒, 闪烁, and at least two four-character phrases such as 风和日丽, 鸦雀无声, 络绎不绝
  • Sensory adjectives in ABB or AABB form: 绿油油, 静悄悄, 香喷喷, 热乎乎, 干干净净

Pick with a tap, a number key or Space. A Chinese keyboard on your device works in the box below too.
