My Neighbor Never Sleeps

Lucia is from Seville, and she lives in a small flat in Glasgow. She works in an office from nine to five. She is a quiet person, and she always goes to bed at eleven.

But Lucia has a problem. Every night, at midnight, there is music from the flat next door. It isn't loud, but it is always there: boom, boom, boom.

In the morning, Lucia leaves for work at half past seven. Her neighbor's flat is silent. At six in the evening, it is silent too. "Does he work? Does he eat?" Lucia thinks. "Does he sleep? No, he never sleeps!"

Lucia asks Mrs. Campbell, the old woman on the first floor. "Does the man in flat 3 sleep?" Mrs. Campbell laughs. "Jamie? Yes, he does. He sleeps all day!"

On Saturday, Lucia meets Jamie on the stairs. He is young, with a black bag and headphones. "Hi! Do you live in flat 4?" he asks. "Yes, I do. I'm Lucia."

"I'm Jamie. Sorry about the music. I'm a DJ. I work in a club at night, and I practice at home before work."

"So you never sleep at night?" asks Lucia. "Never," Jamie says. "I always sleep from seven in the morning to three in the afternoon."

Now Jamie always uses his headphones at home, and Lucia sleeps well. On Fridays, she sometimes goes to his club. She doesn't sleep that night, but she dances a lot!
