The End of the Course

It is the last day of the English course at a school in Dublin. There are nine students in the class. The teacher, Maria, has a question for everybody: "What do you like about Dublin, what can you do now, and where do you live?"

Diego, from Mexico, is first. "I like the parks. In Dublin, there are a lot of parks. Now I can ask for directions, and I can buy a bus ticket in English! I live in a small room near the river. It is cold, but my landlady is very kind."

Yuki, from Japan, is next. "I like the music. On Friday nights, there is music in every street. Now I can talk to people in shops. I live with an Irish family. They have three children and a big dog. It is noisy, but I love it."

Then it is Lucas's turn. He is from Brazil, and he is a little shy. "I like... the people. Everybody says hello. Now I can understand the bus driver. That is difficult! I live with Diego. We cook together every night. His food is terrible, but he is a good friend."

Everybody laughs. Diego laughs too. Then Maria says, "And now, a question for me. What do I like about this class? I like you. All of you. Good luck, and please write to me!"

At the end, there is cake, and the students take a photo. Tomorrow, they go home. But today, they are in Dublin, and they are happy.
