The train to Edinburgh was full. Laura found the last free next to a man with a big book. "Excuse me, is this free?" she asked. "Yes, it is," he said. "I'm Peter." "I'm Laura."

Laura looked at his book. "I love that she said. "So do I," said Peter. "I've read all her books." "So have I," said Laura. "I'm reading the new one now." She took it out of her bag. They both laughed.

At twelve o'clock, a man came with a "Sandwiches? Egg, or cheese?" "Not egg, please," said Laura. "I can't egg sandwiches." "Neither can I," said Peter. They both took cheese.

"Where are you from?" Peter asked. "You don't Scottish." "I'm not," said Laura. "I was in Colombia, in Bogota. I moved to Glasgow when I was eight." Peter put down his sandwich. "I was in Bogota too! In the big hospital in the north of the city." "So was I!" said Laura.

They looked at each other for a long moment. "This is strange," said Laura. "I don't believe it," said Peter. "Neither do I," she said. "But I like it." "So do I."

The train arrived in Edinburgh at two. "I'm going to a Peter said. "Me too! At the university?" "Yes..." Laura smiled. "Then we're going the same way. Do you want to walk?" "Of course," said Peter. "After all, we have a lot to talk about."
