HSK Practice

Practice papers modelled on the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), the Chinese proficiency test: the same sections and the same kinds of task in the same order, scored out of 100 per section with the HSK's pass mark. Each paper is shorter than the real one, with the time scaled to match, and uses only words and grammar this course has taught by that level.

Every question is marked for you with an explanation in English, and every Chinese word can be tapped to hear it. Take a section untimed to practise, or switch on timed mode to rehearse the real thing: the clock runs and each recording plays only as often as in the test.

The levels follow the new HSK 3.0 bands. The task types are those of the HSK papers in use today; the new HSK 1–6 papers are being introduced gradually, and their final format may differ in places.

HSK is run by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and Chinese Testing International. These are original practice papers written by Deep End, not copies of real HSK papers, and not official test material.
